Walktober
Walktober is celebrated in October to increase healthy habits. It was made to help people get out and enjoy the fresh air. This is a holiday to promote pedestrian safety, health, and exercise!

Maryland’s state exercise is WALKING
Maryland has hosted 7 yearly WALK MARYLAND DAY, this year it takes place on Wednesday, October 5th
Maryland’s Department of Transportation host webinars, called walkinars, throughout October with various speakers to educate on walking, safety, and health
Walktober was started in Texas in 2016, but is now beginning to spread to other countries!
