YAP’s Year in Review

The Young Athletes Program has had a tremendous academic school year! With numbers surpassing where they were pre-pandemic, Young Athletes has proven to be a welcoming and needed program for our Future Champions! In the past year, SOMD has seen the growth of our Young Athletes At-Home Program championed by at-home educators through Early Intervention Services. Our Young Athletes families are equipped with their own adaptable equipment kit, lesson plans demonstrated by their at-home educator, SOMD Program support , all free of charge. The Young Athletes At-Home Program has become a great resource for family education, community integration, and we can’t forget, FUN! SOMD welcomes our Young Athletes and their families into a lifetime of participation with Special Olympics!
With the end of the 2022-2023 school year in sight, Special Olympics Maryland is proud to have a year in review for our Young Athletes Program!
