2023 Summer Games Recap

Summer Games are the best time of the year for the 15,558 athletes and Unified® teammates across the state. From sports to inclusive health opportunities, to athlete leadership, this time of year showcases what Special Olympics Maryland provides to their community. We had a jam-packed weekend of competition in Cheerleading, Bocce, Swimming, Track & Field hosted at Towson University, and Softball hosted at Kiwanis Wallas Park. At the 2023 Summer Games, 553 athletes received health screenings from 155 medical volunteers. The volunteers came from KKI, UMD, Towson University, Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins, Drayer Physical Therapy, UMES, Hearing Wellness Center, and many more!
