The COVID-19 pandemic is changing daily and as the state of Maryland starts to open back up, we are looking forward to getting back to the sports we love. The health and safety of our athletes, families, volunteers, and staff, remains the top priority for Special Olympics Maryland. In the coming weeks, we will be releasing educational resources regarding the new health and safety protocols that will be in effect for the foreseeable future.

We are also working with four counties to pilot return to practice protocols in four sports with groups of 10 people (athletes & volunteers) so that we can learn from the experience and share with other programs to help ensure the safest environments as we move toward a more widespread return to practice for our athletes. Based on restrictions to group size, local programs will be limited to the number of athletes who can register for various activities. Please contact your local program with questions. Please refer to the map below for specific details regarding your local program and check out the resources section for great health and safety tips!
